andysunstory

I've been relishing my newfound blessing of unlimited internet access. The last time I could surf internet freely in the comfort of my room was almost four years back. Then, I was using my old, big desktop computer, bought way back in 2004. The internet connection was provided by Izam, a Shell-sponsored post graduate student from Sabah. She is now married to my former housemate Sabri, and they are currently living in the United States.

What sites do I regularly surf over the internet?

Pretty substantial, and diverse. I could surf internet for hours straight, reading all the materials on the site. There were some people in the past who mistakenly thought I was addicted to facebook...because I was always stuck to the screen of the computer. What more can you do for hours staring in front of the monitor rather than updating facebook?

Sadly, they were dead wrong. I don't have any facebook. I never had one. Actually, I did have one, but that was created by my friend without my consent. And I'd already deleted that account. As I've said so many times, I prefer to be anonymous, I prefer to be alone. For me, facebook is rubbish is kind of not that necessary.

Throughout this week, I've been reading voraciously scores of websites, blogs (some of it are quite good...some are hilarious) as well as forums and selected newspapers across the world. My housemate came around last night, he peeked at my laptop to see what video I was watching.

"Is it MatLutfi?"

Nope.

It was actually andysunstory. I found his link accidentally over the youtube channel. But he does look like MatLutfi.

I didn't know MatLutfi until last year. Never even heard of him. I think he has a legion of fans, although I still couldn't grasp why. But to be fair, he's got some flair. Andysunstory is a bit of MatLutfi's version in english. He has a distinct accent (Australian?) that caught my attention. And he has messages too...although his points are always accompanied by that f* words. I think people should see his videos more, besides MatLutfi.

I texted my friend in Penang, asking whether she knew of Andy. She never heard of him. But when I explained that he's a bit like MatLutfi, she said she liked MatLutfi. She then proceeded to mention anwar hadi and aiman azlan as also in the same boat, and they are all popular.

Now, who is this fella anwar hadi, and who is this aiman azlan? I seriously have no idea, never heard of them.

Now I feel like I'm thoroughly detached from the current trends.

Now I feel old.

On Connection

I'm at a loss.

I'm still surfing the internet!

No cut. No hassle. No problem.

The Internet is on and connecting flawlessly.

Maybe Izam heard my prayer and decided NOT to terminate the subscription?

Yes lah. Can lose sleep and surf until the wee hours in the morning.

Better go and play badminton now.

Off Connection

After less than a month, I am going to be disconnected again from the world of internet.

Izam told Sabri that she would no longer be paying for our connection (They are a sweet couple. Sabri, by the way, is my housemate)

Izam...RM68 only...why cannot? Your salary is more than enough...I and Sabri can afford, but we need to think about the future. Hafiz isn't coming back...he didn't even reply my message. If he were to stay in KL, the house-rent would be on our shoulders to bear.

And if Sabri succeeded in his appeal, it would be down to only two of us...me and Wan. Mati la. How can I survive?

So what should I do next? Cut off from the internet is like being isolated in a big, dark cave. And my ongoing studies. Money isn't everything but everything revolves around money nowadays.

This headache is killing me.

The glitch that glitters

I am a frequent visitor to Dossnet cybercafe. I do have an internet connection back at my lovely room, but it's way too suck to be good. USM, despite it's status as the sole and the first University in Malaysia to be awarded the prestigious APEX status just recently, is lagging behind in terms of it's internet connectivity.

Dossnet charges RM2 per hour, but they cleverly set up a membership account to attract and maintain regular customers. For those who signed up as their member, the charge is down to RM1.50 per hour. I happily subscribe to this kind of shit to enjoy that 5o cents privilege.

The problem is, this membership programme has its own shortcomings. The idea is good, the implementation is not that good, and the end result is as good as shit. First, there was a glitch in the system that erased all the membership pre-paid amounts. My good RM10 that I paid on the registration was gone. Luckily, they generously credited extra RM10 back into my account. For free! Stupid cybercafe.

Last night, as usual I tried to log on using my username. But failed. Crap motherfucker. That idiot guy told me there was a glitch in the sytem. Again! This time, all the passwords have been gone. So they set up a new password for every members. 1234, that was the default password for everybody. Once connected, we could change the password accordingly.

A wild imagination struck my mind almost immediately. 'Members' don't usually frequented this cybercafe on a daily basis. Given that they didn't visit this stupid cybercafe for days, there exists a loophole. A BIG loophole. If I could hijack their username and change their password before they do, I could enjoy surfing here for free. There's some fun there, isn't it?. I'm always a big fan of anything to do with the word 'free'.

I pretended my pre-paid was exhausted (which awkwardly is true), so I need to top up the amount. As Qiqi, that damn cute worker searched my username on the main computer, I glanced through all the available usernames. I registered it all on my mind almost immediately. When it comes to remembering something, my memory is in the class of its own. Fucking genius.

I tried one of the username, and it worked as planned. Shit. I'm a genius. I succesfully turned the glitch in the sytem into glitters for my own benefit. It was their fault for failing to curb my curiosity and supreme imagination. I just took advantage of their own shortcomings.

So here I am...surfing this shit called internet in this damn bloody idiot CC for free. Muahahaha!!!
